Occurrence of the plant: Native to North America, formerly imported from wild sources, now cultivated worldwide. 

Features: Stem parts green to reddish, slightly hairy or glabrous. Pieces of the originally egg-shaped, long-stemmed basal leaves.

Application & preparation

Echinacea 

Application 

To strengthen the immune system, for abscesses, bronchitis, colds, joint inflammation, susceptibility to infections, psoriasis, coughs, burns.    

Effect

antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, immune stimulating, analgesic  

Tea making

Pour boiling water over about ½ teaspoon of crushed echinacea and strain after about 10 minutes.  

dosage

For colds and to increase the body's defenses, drink a cup of freshly prepared tea several times a day, preferably warm, preferably between meals.
